Week One- Not so great!

Hi ladies!
Well, it's been a week since I said I was going to make a change in my
eating habits. I know that it's not going to change over night,
but I am disappointed in myself because I totally dropped the ball this past week.
Story of my life.
I strive for perfection in everything I do, but for some reason getting myself
healthy, I don't That should be one of my top priorities. Not because I want to
be skinny (which I do...lol) but because I want to be healthy and life a long
life so I can nag my children forever!

So, I ate fast food this past week. That was one of my goals to not do.
I ate too many sweets, another goal I failed on.
But, I did ease up on myself a bit, which is something I really need to do.
So I'm choosing to focus on that positive and not the negatives.
Tomorrow is a new day, right?
I'm also learning that if I screw up on one meal... I don't need to just eat
whatever I want for the rest of the day. I can improve right then, the whole
day isn't ruined. This is something I will have to keep working
really hard on...lol.

So my stats this week;

Height: 5"10
Previous Weight: 198
Weight: 195.6
Mood: Optimistic

Now, I know I didn't lose weight from last week because I didn't do well eating
at all (Ben and Jerry can vouch for that).
Last week happened to be "that time" of the month and that's probably why
I weighed 198.

So far... not so good!

Good afternoon ladies!
So, I'm on day two of my choice to make myself a healthier me and it's not going so well.
Of course, day one had to fall on Valentines Day (smart of me, huh?)
and my hubby got me a box of Godiva chocolates that I had previously
requested. So these blogs are going to be insanely honest... and it
makes me ashamed to say, but I finished off the entire box yesterday!
I picked at it all day until it was done that evening. WTH is wrong with me?
Today, I haven't done terrible, but it seems like if I start eating, it's hard to stop...lol.
I started with a small bowl of  Life cereal, after taking my son to our mommy and me class
I had a few chips and about half a cup of some dip I made (recipe below, it's AWESOME!)
Then I had half a sandwich, a little later a few more chips and a pudding cup.
Ugh. Grazing. Story of my life!
The difference today is, I'm not going to beat myself up for it.
I'm going to move on, and figure out why I do this.
Boredom? Yes.
Stress eating? Yes.
So, what do I need to do next to help myself not to turn to food when I'm bored?
That's what this whole journey is all about!

I forgot to add in my last blog, my goal is to give up fast food completely.
Not only is it fattening, it's just terrible for you and completely
processed. It's just so convenient which makes it easy to turn to
on a late night when you are beat and don't want to cook.

My other goal is not to restrict myself so much, that's how I always fail
when dieting or getting my eating habits in check.
I am aiming to learn moderation.
I already hit the gym regularly but it doesn't help because I eat so much during
the day.

And for the recipe for the awesome dip, warning, it's fattening... we had tostadas
for dinner last night and we topped them with it instead of sour cream. Yum.


There is a restaurant in the south called Casa Ole, this is a knock off of their
green dip. Yum-o.


4 avocados

1 (16 ounce) container sour cream

1 (14 1/2 ounce) can Rotel Tomatoes

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies

1 small jalapeno

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon lemon juice

3 ounces cream cheese

Throw all your ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. I usually start with my
avocados and then add other stuff in as I blend.
Chill completely and serve with chips.

I also took some more before shots yesterday. I'll blog them here, and I swear... I've
taken before pictures more times than I can count in the past years but this time
I WILL have an after picture to put next to it that doesn't look exactly the same..lmao.

It ends tonight... and I am baring it all!

Good evening ladies... I'll start with letting you all know we're settled in California.
We've moved into military housing and although it's small, it isn't that bad.
It took us two days to unpack and we're done... we have a few boxes lying around
that need to be thrown out on trash day and curtains to hang but other than that it's all done.

So, this is going to be a very personal blog. And if your modest, there is no need
to go on.
Don't say I didn't warn you.

 I've said this more times than I can count,
I've yo-yo'd back and forth with eating right and giving up, losing weight and
gaining it back. But it ends tonight.
I'm tired of sabotaging myself, because that's exactly what I'm doing. I can do this.
And I'm bringing you all along for the ride, I need more than just
my husband to hold me accountable. I've got an amazing family, and I've got this
incredible husband who loves me for me, no matter what.

So, my plan...
I plan to eat healthier. I plan to NOT obsessively weight myself 
and I plan to not be so hard on myself if I do slip up!
I am going to check in with you guys every two weeks with a follow up photo and stats!
And if I don't, please yell at me! I'm serious... I need accountability!!
And if any of you want to join me... let's do this together!
Maybe my sharing my journey can help others as well.

I'm baaaack!

Well, sort of.
I'm posting from my laptop in a hotel room.
Our room is kind of a crap hole, well not really but it smells a little musty and I hate that.
Unfortunately all the nice places to stay were all booked up when we got in town, go figure.

Anywho...
We made it to 29 Palms in one piece! lol We took six days to get here from New York, one day being
a non driving day. We stopped to see Graceland and the meteor crater in Arizona!
We also had a great visit with family in New Mexico and took a lovely tram ride to the
top of Sandia mountain. It was beautiful.
We were going to take a trip to the Grand Canyons but by then, we were just ready
to get out of the car and skipped it.

Now we're sitting in a hotel room going a bit stir crazy.
Cole is napping and K is at her new school for her very first day.
Trey is on base getting checked in so we can get base housing. It's so silly
that he has to be completely checked in and in the government sides system
before housing can touch us. What a pain in the neck! But it is what it is, right?

I'll still be MIA for a while, seeing we need to get all settled in when we get our new house and
enjoy the fun of unpacking. I just wanted to pop in and let you all know that
we're still alive!
